Maastricht Business Park Development Contracts signed

16 June 2009

Maastricht Airport took another significant step forward today with the completion of a joint venture deal to develop the 104ha business park adjacent to the airfield.

The airport is delighted welcome its three partners who together form Aviation Valley Land Development CV. The airport is joined by the Limburg Province, DuraVermeer Ruimtelijke Ontwikkeling and Aviation Logistics Development Company (ALDC). ALDC is a collaboration between the Kroon Group, Volker Wessels and Impeerium. Together these partners bring an exceptional track record of success in construction, property development and finance. Furthermore the Limburg province will also act as financier making debt finance available to the development company.

The contracts were signed at the Provada Real Estate fair in Amsterdam by Provincial Executive Ger Driessen on behalf of the Limburg province, Chairman of the Board Jan Tindemans on behalf of Maastricht Aachen Airport, Age Vermeer on behalf of DuraVermeer and Evert Kroon and Edgar Peer on behalf of ALDC.

The development of this business park is a hugely exciting step forward for the airport. The project enjoys an unrivalled location in northern Europe, supported by independent studies which view this region as the best for a development opportunity of this type. In addition, the park has airside access to the airport where there is a thriving and fast-growing flown and trucked freight operation (last year handling in excess of 85,000 tonnes), and the park benefits from a zoning plan which allows green and conservation areas to be clustered together thereby maximising the area available for development and hugely increasing the flexibility of the plots for customers. The strength of this project is being confirmed by the market, despite the macro economic conditions, with the first plot already sold and a number of advanced stage enquiries under discussion.
